Google Chrome Frame boosts IE pace up to Chrome levels

So, meet how such of an action process do you intend in Internet Explorer when you establish and attain consume of Chrome Frame?
Quite a lot, as it turns out!
Note: All tests carried discover on Windows Vista 64-bit.
I definite to verify Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8 and wager what assorted Chrome Frame prefabricated when streaming the SunSpider JavaScript criterion test. For comparability I also ran the effort in Google Chrome 3 browser.
IE7 using Chrome Frame is most 40 nowadays faster at streaming finished the SunSpider JavaScript criterion effort than IE7 alone.
IE8 using Google Chrome Frame is most 10 nowadays faster at streaming finished the SunSpider JavaScript criterion effort than IE8 alone.
Using Chrome Frame, IE7 and IE8 are nearly as alacritous as Google Chrome itself at processing JavaScript.
Good stuff indeed.
As to inventiveness practice patch streaming Chrome Frame, I didn’t wager some perceptible process in mainframe or RAM usage. In fact, correct today I can’t wager some downside to Chrome Frame.

Google Chrome for Mac and Linux

Finally Google Chrome browser is out for Mac and Linux on Thursday, June 04, 2009 but it the browser is in its developer preview version. It’s not ready to use as it is not complete yet.

"In order to get more feedback from developers, we have early developer channel versions of Google Chrome for Mac OS X and Linux, but whatever you do, please DON'T DOWNLOAD THEM," Google product managers Mike Smith and Karen Grunberg said in a blog post, evidently trying to employ a little reverse psychology. "Unless of course you are a developer or take great pleasure in incomplete, unpredictable, and potentially crashing software."

Google's open-source browser has been a Windows-only product, and some Mac and Linux users have been clamoring for their own version. Google coders have been working to rebuild some Chrome components, such as its graphical interface and its sandbox that isolates different processes from each other, to move beyond just Windows operating system.

Google offers three versions of Chrome: stable, beta, and developer preview.

Google Chrome extensions

The latest development builds of Google Chrome browser possess a feature that is desired by many, extensions. There is news that Google has surfaced Four Extensions from which two of them are mentioned below…

Cleeki:

Cleeki offers functionality similar to that of Microsoft Internet Explorer 8's accelerators. It can also import accelerators from IE8 into Chrome.

Adsweep:

It’s an advertisementand pop up blocker.

Since the extension functionality is still in development in must be enabled (on a recent development build of Chrome) by editing the "Target" line in your Google Chrome shortcut properties, adding "- -enable-extensions" as a suffix (without the quotations). Installing an extension is as simple as visiting their website, such as the aforementioned.

However, with development happening quickly, Google Chrome browser could see a surge in market share once the extension feature becomes main stream.

Google Chrome – The Next Internet Explorer

Google's Chrome browser has very less market share as compared to Microsoft Internet Explorer. Yet Microsoft plans to argue to the European Commission that bundling Chrome into Microsoft Windows -- an anti-trust decree the EC wants to impose -- will potentially give Google a monopoly hold on the Internet.

Google knows speed is addictive -- search queen Marissa Mayer has repeatedly said that a few hundred milliseconds per page make a 20 percent difference in how often user’s type a search into Google. One of the company's major goals with Google Chrome browser is to effectively speed up the Internet for end users.

Chrome also came out ahead in an admittedly Google-sponsored computer security test. The reason: The browser automatically updates itself every few days. This means Chrome users are most likely to have the latest security updates installed.

Microsoft's argument may seem comical, but there's a kernel of truth to it: If Google ends up with a majority share of browser users tied to Chrome, and Google's search engine is their most frequent and trusted destination, think of the opportunities for Google to leverage that huge group of people.

Google airs Google Chrome on TV

Google has taken a new initiative to promote Google Chrome browser. Earlier there was news that Google chrome browser would come pre installed in Computers, just to increase its usage and popularity. I have Google Chrome installed at my office where I use Microsoft windows XP and at my home as well where I use Microsoft windows vista. I think the speed on the both the operating system is like lightning.

Google plans to make its first foray into the old-fashioned world of television advertising with spots promoting its Chrome browser this weekend.

Google Japan had already released a 30-second video promoting Google Chrome browser on YouTube, but the company will distribute that video through the Google TV Ads network this weekend as an experiment to see if it can drum up interest in Chrome, its new browser. Google said it's using the research it has done on measuring the relevance of television ads in order to place the Chrome ad appropriately.

Chrome was also featured as part of a huge ad on the front page of The New York Times' Web site Friday, with several different videos promoting the browser. Those are also available, of course, on YouTube.

For a consumer brand of sits size, Google does relatively little advertising. It put Chrome ads on YouTube in January, but "house ads" are a little different than network television exposure. Likewise, T-Mobile advertises the "G1 with Google" in hyping up the Android-powered G1, but that's not exactly the same as making Google the focus of the ad.

Google Chrome security fix is reissued by Google

Google fixed security issues with a new release of its stable version of Google Chrome browser -- then released a replacement shortly afterward to prevent a batch of crashes that turned up as well.

Chrome 1.0.154.64 emerged Tuesday and was intended to fix one critical security problem and one high-severity one. On Thursday, came 1.0.154.65 to fix a crash during startup that affected "a small percentage of users," said Google Chrome Program Manager Mark Larson.

With the first problem, an attacker under some circumstances could run attack software with the same privilege as the computer user.

With the second, an issue handling 2D graphics could potentially allow a specially crafted image to crash a tab and run an attacker's code within Chrome's sandbox security isolation system.

Google Chrome Caught in Vulnerability Web

Google updates Google Chrome to fix a security vulnerability that would allow hackers to launch universal cross-site scripting attacks. The flaw affects users with the Chrome Web browser installed who visit a malicious Web page with Microsoft Internet Explorer.

The Google Chrome Web browser has found itself at the center of a security issue that could lead to cross-site scripting attacks.

Google Chrome has been updated to 1.0.154.59 to fix security vulnerability in the handling of ChromeHTML URIs (Uniform Resource Identifiers) that allows an attacker to bypass the Same Origin Policy for any site and enumerate victim's files and directories.

"If a user has Google Chrome installed, visiting an attacker-controlled Web page in Microsoft Internet Explorer could have caused Google Chrome to launch, open multiple tabs and load scripts that run after navigating to a URL of the attacker's choice," the advisory stated.

The vulnerability was discovered by IBM security researcher Roi Saltzman, who noted in a blog post that the processing of URL protocol handlers has been an ongoing issue with Internet Explorer. A similar situation was uncovered in 2007 involving Internet Explorer and Firefox.

"These issues pose a major threat to any user that browses a maliciously crafted page using Internet Explorer and has Google Chrome installed alongside," Saltzman wrote. "It is important to note that the way Internet Explorer processes URL protocol handlers is a known Achilles' heel and has been widely used previously to attack other various applications."

Google Toolbar updated with My Location

Google has updated and added new features to its new Toolbar 6 Beta with the new feature of My location which is similar to Google latitude services which were launched in February. Google has already launched it’s my location feature in mobile phones. With My Location enabled, Toolbar searches are matched to your computer's IP address: everything you seek is now also seeking you. It can scour your Wi-Fi IP address as well, making it easier to find a "better" Starbucks from your current Starbucks.

You can easily download this feature on your Microsoft windows. Beware attempting to access My Location from behind a firewall. Google Toolbar with My Location features is oddly only available on Internet Explorer 6.0+. But not on Google Chrome.

Browsers speed test

Few days back a test was made on the browsers speed... in which Google Chrome proved itself as the faster leaving behind Firefox browser, Internet Explorer, Apple’s newly launched safari.

These browsers were set to open these sites at the same time, some of them were en.wikipedia.org, youtube.com, amazon.com, microsoft.com, yahoo.com, apple.com, myspace.com.

Google Chrome loaded all of these pages before other browsers could load them. Its average time to load nine pages was about 1.3 seconds. The only Site which Chrome was not able to load faster was apple.com which was loaded first by safari browser. The test was done on Windows Vista service pack 1 and the operating systems were reinstalled.

Chrome’s performance was very impressive in loading Wikipedia’s English-language home page, which it loaded in 1.12 seconds, compared to IE 8’s 2.24 seconds, Firefox’s 3.31 seconds and Safari’s 3.38 seconds.

Although Microsoft claimed IE 8 is now the fasted browser out there, it finished with an average page load time across all nine sites in this test of 1.8 seconds. Safari and Firefox tied for third with average page load times of 2.12 seconds.

For Mac users licking their chops at finally getting their hands on Google Chrome, the wait may not be much longer. By the end of this year surely... we can expect Mac version for Google Chrome.

New Beta of Google Chrome Arrived with new Extensions

Google has released its new version of Google chrome which is upgraded with new features. Google removed the beta tag from Google chrome in December, after three months from its release. Google claims its 25 percent faster on V8 benchmark tests and 35 percent faster on Sun spider, so if you are looking for improved JavaScript speed, you may want to try the new beta.

Following are the some of its new features-

Google had added Form AutoFill feature in chrome which lets the browser remember the text or information filled by us on websites to save out time when we visit them again. When we revisit those websites then the text or information which we provided will automatically appear below the characters we are typing. Just making it easy and handy as it is in Firefox.

Now we can have full page zoom view in chrome, same as we have it in Mozilla Firefox, to have a zoom view in chrome simply go to Page menu, select text zoom and select larger or smaller. Choosing normal returns back to its original view.

At any point of time, if you need help with your internet browser or have any issue with Internet speed, you can always reach us at 1800 602 586, it’s a toll free number.

Google is also encouraging development of extensions for Chrome, especially since extensions for Firefox are among the primary reasons that people use it. Hopefully Google will soon be releasing more extensions for chrome lovers. Soon Google will be releasing Mac and Linux version of chrome.

Use Gmail offline

Google’s Gmail is launching a new feature: ability to use the Gmail even if you are not connected to any internet connection. Hmmm... sounds great ..but can’t say anything about it...before using it . I read it on Gmail’s official blog. Google employees have been using it in their network and now they thought of launching it to the users.
This feature relies on Gears as it was mentioned on its official blog. It doesn’t matter whether you are working on any operating system like
microsoft windows xp, windows vista or linux.
Here is what they have said about it and how to use it:
“Once you turn on this feature, Gmail uses Gears to download a local cache of your mail. As long as you're connected to the network, that cache is synchronized with Gmail's servers. When you lose your connection, Gmail automatically switches to offline mode, and uses the data stored on your computer's hard drive instead of the information sent across the network. You can read messages, star and label them, and do all of the things you're used to doing while reading your webmail online. Any messages you send while offline will be placed in your outbox and automatically sent the next time Gmail detects a connection. And if you're on an unreliable or slow connection (like when you're "borrowing" your neighbor's wireless), you can choose to use "flaky connection mode," which is somewhere in between: it uses the local cache as if you were disconnected, but still synchronizes your mail with the server in the background. Our goal is to provide nearly the same browser-based Gmail experience whether you're using the data cached on your computer or talking directly to the server.”
Seems interesting and they will be launching it soon...may be in a couple of days. Soon I will get back to you with my experience of using Gmail offline on my newly installed
windows 7 which is on trial basis.
It's quite simple to make it work, just follow these simple steps,
  1. Click Settings and click the Labs tab.
  2. Select Enable next to Offline Gmail.
  3. Click Save Changes.
  4. After your browser reloads, you'll see a new "Offline0.1" link in the upper righthand corner of your account, next to your username. Click this link to start the offline set up process and download Gears if you don't already have it.

Google Chrome will now support RSS Feed

Google chrome production team knows where they are lacking and they have started working on it. Well. We can say that as one by one it has started to launch new features in chrome like bookmarklets. They have released version after version with the improvements, no doubt Chrome is very speedy, as fast as lightning. Beta tag was removed from it in early December. And Now in January, they have a launched RSS feature in Chrome browser..

Auto-Detect RSS in Chrome

There are two bookmarklets offered on www.feeds.rampisp.org, one is “View RSS Feed” and the other is “Auto–detect RSS”. In order to use them, what we have to do is...Just simply drag it to the bookmarklets and whenever you want a page which has RSS feed, click the "Auto-Detect RSS" button, then you will be taken to a page where RSS is displayed. Now click the “View RSS feed” button if you want to view it in a browser, but this option didn't always work as it may contain some virus or you may face a technical problem while dealing with it. Don’t worry we are always here to help you out and provide you the best technical support.
